2007 Motorcycle Awards Nominations are now Open

The MBI 2007 Riders Choice Awards for the motorcycle industry are now open for nominations.

What does this mean ? MBI is an association of international motorcycle bloggers and news websites, with currently 80+ members. Last year, saw the first Riders Choice awards, and proved to be immensely popular. There were 9 different award categories in 2006.

This year, we have 17 award categories, both positive and negative awards.

However, the biggest change with last year, is that you, the reader, has a chance to participate in the award selection and voting.

Starting today, and until February 1st, 2007, anyone can nominate their choice, for any of the 17 categories. The 2007 Award Categories are:

A rider’s dream
The dream ride, tour or event that given enough time and money you most want to experience.
Best exhibition
The best motorcycle exhibition of 2006.
Best looking new motorcycle
The most aesthetically pleasing new in 2006 production motorcycle. Must have been on sale during 2006.
Best manufacturer’s website
The motorcycle, accessory or related product manufacturer’s web site that has the best mix of quality design, content and ease of use.
Best motorcycle blog
The most interesting motorcycle related blog of 2006.
Best new every day motorcycle
The new in 2006 production motorcycle most suited to commuting. Must have been on sale during 2006.
Best new motor scooter
The overall best new in 2006 production motor scooter. Must have been on sale during 2006.
Best new motorcycle
The overall best new in 2006 production motorcycle. Must have been on sale during 2006.
Most promising concept motorcycle
The concept motorcycle displayed at a show for the first time in 2006 whose features are most appealing.
Object of lust
The production motorcycle of any model year that is desired above all others.
Thumbs up
The person or organization who during 2006, made the most significant contribution to motorcycling.
Wish we’d thought of that
The new in 2006 innovation, accessory or other motorcycle related product that is the best idea of 2006. Must have been on sale during 2006.
Women riders booster of the year
The person, company or organization that has most contributed to the advancement of women motorcyclists during 2006.

Fallen Stars
Thumbs down
The person, company or organization who during 2006, most harmed the image of motorcycling.
Worst manufacturer’s website
The motorcycle or related product manufacturer’s web site that we most hate to visit.
What were they thinking?
The concept or production motorcycle, related product or other idea that is the worst idea of 2006. Must have been on sale during 2006.
Ugliest new motorcycle
The worst looking, new in 2006, production motorcycle. Must have been on sale during 2006.

To nominate people or motorcycles, click here. You are allowed to nominate as many as you want, as long as it fits the category description.

After February 1st, we'll be removing all nominations that did not comply with the rules, deleting all spam, and then we'll be starting round 2, which involves voting for your choice. This will give you the chance to vote for your favorites. In contrast with the nominations, you may only vote for one entry per category.

Remember, the MBI Riders Choice Awards are the only true independent and reader awards on the internet. You can make the difference !!! Your motorcycle industry needs you !! NOMINATE !
