I didn't believe it when the press release came in. I looked at my calendar to see if it was the 1st of April, but no, this was serious.
The Vatican newspaper, L'Osservatore Romano, in their editorial, slammed the race as irresponsible, condemning the Dakar as a "irresponsible, violent and cynical attempt to impose questionable Western tastes on the developing world" !!!!!!!!
That from an institution that is responsible for millions of deaths over the centuries, of pedophelia in epidemic proportions and of total hypocrisy. They obviously have not taken the time to see what the Dakar brings to these poor countries in Africa. In brings schools, hospitals and infrastructure, and also much needed tourism, something the Vatican does not !
How dare they call the race irresponsible ? Do they prefer to see Africa forgotten, so that they can run amok there ? Irresponsible ?? Yes, by the Vatican !
