Read the special articles on Bluetooth and motorcycles: | A year or two ago, barely anyone knew what Bluetooth was. Now, you can't turn a corner at a motorcycle exhibition without falling over a communications device manufacturer offering Bluetooth. Not that I'm complaining.... from SpyBall (a Cobra Automotive Technologies company) is a communication device made for motorcycle riders, featuring the wireless Bluetooth technology. The Bluetooth communications device (seen here on your left) is fixed to the rear of your helmet, thereby catching the least wind turbulence. The flat loudspeakers are attached to the inside of your helmet using velcro, while the microphone is attached to the side of the helmet, with a boom bent inwards. The HelloBiker system works like other Bluetooth intercom sets. Once the two units are paired, you can talk to your pillion passenger. If you've also paired your Bluetooth equipped mobile telephone, and if your phone rings, the intercom is muted while you talk over the telephone. Once your conversation is finished, the intercom is automatically enabled. The same applies to the pillion passenger; he or she can have their mobile phone paired to their helmet. You can get a single unit set, used for riders with no pillion, but want to use the mobile phone, or you can get a rider-to-pillion set, that includes two headsets, two control units and one international battery charger. Cost: About UK£ 127 for the single unit. Click here to access their site.
