If you're planning to come to Paris on the 27th of January this year in your car, DON'T ! There's not going to be any parking spaces for cars !
Why ?
Because a rambling idiot from the Parisian City Hall, Denis Baupin, who happens to be responsible for transportation in Paris, has ordered the Police to remove all motorcycles and scooters from the sidewalks of the fair city. Motorcycles were always allowed, even encouraged, to use the sidewalk for parking. Now this misguided greenie has decided that there is no place on the sidewalk for PTWs. But there is place for bicycles !!
What's Going to Happen on the 27th ?
The FFMC is asking all motorcyclists and scooterists to come to Paris (around the City Hall) before 10 AM and park their motorcycle in legal car parking areas in the street. One motorcycle per car space !
That will block all cars from parking, and will create a big traffic problem in Paris. After that, they'll go on their normal slow speed cruise around the roads of Paris, blocking all traffic. So on the 27th, better not be in a car in Paris.
You've been warned ! (of course if you're on a motorcycle, why not come over and help out ?)
