I was reading through this morning's news clipping, and stumbled upon a "letter to the editor" of the Galveston County Daily. In it, the writer states that the LEOs of Galveston (Texas, USA) PAY for their own motorcycles and gear !!
So, if I get this right, you join the Police Department of Galveston, and you decide you want to be a motorcycle officer. Then you need to go out and buy your own motorcycle (probably a Harley-Davidson, so you'll be spending at least US$ 20,000) with your earnings...(which according to the letter, the supplement by riding at funerals as escort during their free-time).
Does anyone know if this is true ?? Does it happen in other States ?? Are they crazy ??
