The first stop was the "parc fermee", since the pros would have passed scrutineering, so now the parc must be full. The parc fermee was totally full. I don't think they could have fitted any other motorcycle. Many had been lovingly fitted with rain coats. Obviously many racers do not want to have a wet bum... I'd say that this enduro motorcycle belongs to a woman. Here is Cyril Despres's 950 Super Enduro KTM motorcycle. He'll be the only one racing a motorcycle bigger than the 660's that are out there. He's obviously gunning for speed. Also notice... he doesn't mind sitting on a wet saddle.... Some local Honda Goldwing club had descended on the town and taken over a hotel's parking. The two main streets were jam-packed with bikers. Everywhere you looked, everywhere you walked, there were people in leathers, carrying helmets. And if there weren't people, there were motorcycles parked everywhere. Motorcycle kept streaming in, often loud, but all totally visible ! This will go on the whole night, until tomorrow morning. People will sleep in sleeping-bags alongside the road, in the parks, on benches and on the beach. The beach area was even more crowded. All the quad race spectators had left the race and were shopping for food and drink. Do you think these motorcycle are safe, or what ?? The garbage sure piles up in one day. Almost impossible to walk the beach walk, it was that crowed. And it wasn't even motorcycle race day, just quad day....tomorrow is going to be impossible. This is what was left over of the quad pit area. All gone ! In the meantime, the quad support trucks and mobile homes were leaving, vacating the premises for the motorcycle support trucks. The obvious and always present, the motorcycle burns.... The merchants would try anything to attract your attention. This was flying over a food joint.... That's it folks. The rest tomorrow.
