At 13:00 on Saturday at Le Touquet, is the quad race. Not my cup of tea, but it's nice to see for a while, so here are some of the photos I took. They were very, very lucky, since it was pouring rain until 5 minutes before the start; then the sun broke out, and all clouds were gone. There were some 350 quads participating, some solo, most in teams. Last year, the race started the way the Le Mans race used to start - running start. But this year, they decided to play it safe, and have a wave start, i.e., in ways of 50. The field was positioned and ready to go. The competitors were milling around, talking to each other. Seeing 350 quads lined up to start can be impressive... ...very impressive.... The start was given, and the professionals were the first to start (the single and double digit dorsals). What follows now, are some of the photos, with comments, since I'm not able to comment on quads... just enjoy: Bad luck.. he broke after 100 meters That's it for the Saturday "live" reporting. Tomorrow is the big day, and there will be three of us making photos. But the first photos will only (hopefully) appear at night (European time), since I'll need to get all photos home first. If you're a quad fan, I hope you enjoyed them. Shortly, all quad photos will be stored in a photo server, using high quality images. More on that later.
