It looks like after the astounding success of this year's enduro of Le Touquet, world's biggest motorcycle enduro event, the new organizers (FFM - the French Motorcycle Federation) and the city of Le Touquet have decided to host some sort of event for next year. After the 450,000 visitors that weekend, it's obvious that the city of Le Touquet would want to continue in some shape or another (just think of the revenue this brings). However, due to the pressure from environmentalists, the enduro as we know it will most probably not be held. In its place, the FFM is looking at organizing some sort of "bike week", much as can be seen in Daytona, Florida, USA. Central to the week's events will be some sort of motorcycle enduro race, but not using the dunes. For my part, I'm happy to see that they will capitalize on the popularity of the motorcycle race, and very glad to see some sort of bike week being organized. I'm sad to see the real motorcycle enduro race disappearing though... And if they're going to organize a "bike week", then they should do it when it's a bit warmer. For those of you who want to see real photos of this year's event (not like the ones I published {link}), click here (from LeRepaireDesMotards.com). There's 60 great photos to be seen.
