World's largest motorcycle event was held again last weekend at Le Touquet, France. It was the 29th version of this famous (and notorious) enduro event. 1,000 motorcycles and quads, and 300,000 spectators attended this monster motorcycle race February 14 & 15th. Held in the north of France (just below Calais), and organized by the same people who brought you the Paris-Dakar rally (ASO), it is one of the more spectacular motorcycle races. The race is held on a 17 kilometer long circuit consisting of 8 kilometers of beach and the rest through the sand dunes. The most impressive part is when all 1,000 motorcycles arrive at the first dune climb after the 8 kilometer sprint. Los Angeles rush hour is a breeze in the park compared to this. Frenchman Jean-Claude Moussé won this event on his Honda 450 CRF, followed by Tomotei Potisek (also on Honda) and Honda rider Thierry Bethys (last year's winner).
