According to the Australian Herald Sun, sales of motorcycles made a big leap during 2004 in the country Down Under. Motorcycle sales jumped 20 %, totalling 89,374 motorcycles, an increase of 15,702 !
Top motorcycle brands were Honda with 25,498, Yamaha with 22,742 and Suzuki with 11,393 units sold during 2004 (Note: these three manufacturers sold some 60,000 motorcycles out of the 90,000 !! Not much left for the others).
One of the more notable statistics is the type of motorcycles sold. Half of the motorcycles sold in Australia were for off-road use !!

The increase of sales is attributed to increase in spending power and the inner city living of many Australians.
