The all female enduro race, Endurose, has become an accepted and respected motorcycle race. Every year, there are more riders and more spectators. So no reason to believe this year will be an exception. This year, the all female motorcycle enduro will be held on the 15th of July (that's the day after the French national holiday - Bastille day) in Beaujeu. To make things even more interesting for competitors, Beaujeu is smack in the middle of the Beaujolais region, one of France's prime wine-making regions. Both can make for a very interesting weekend.... The race is limited to 300 competitors, and is divided into different categories. You can chose a single or 2 laps of approximately 60 kilometers per lap. The trails are in a "normal" countryside, so you don't have to expect impossible hill climbs, mud or sand pits, deep rivers, etc. Last year, the main event was won by Ludivine Puy (a Dakar racer {link}). The race itself has become quite international, with ladies from Italy, Switzerland and the UK participating. So here's your chance to ride in an enduro without needing to be a super expert (unless you participate in the more tougher part). €50 and any legal off-road motorcycle (or quad) will get you on the track. If you don't have a Motorcycle Federation License, you can get one there for the day. Click here for more information and the registration form (all in English).
