"Motorcycle accidents don't always result in the death of the biker". That is the message that the road safety people in Southern France want to pass on.
On the RN8 road, close to Beausset, on the way to the racing circuit Castellet, 65 motorcyclists have had a serious accident, 3 died, the rest are handicapped for life. And all this on 12 kilometers of road.
So the authorities have put up 23 of these signs to slow down the bikers.
Does it work ?? Apparently ! According to the French motorcycle magazine Moto-Journal who sent a test rider out there, he stated that once you start into the curves and see the black figure and the wheelchair, you automatically slow down.
