Those of you who've been following our reporting on the European ban for off-road riding (greenlaning), particularly in the UK and France can start breathing a bit. The green environmentalist lobby groups just got a challenger; Austrian motorcycle manufacturer KTM. KTM France have launched an Ad campaign promoting Codever. Codever is a Belgian/French association who defends the motorcyclists' rights to ride a motorcycle off-road ! The first KTM ad shows several heavy hitters, notably Hubert Auriol (many time winner of the Dakar), Luc Alphand (world champion downhill ski, winner Dakar 2006 -cars) and other famous French riders. The end objective is to promote the mass protest rides on the 18th of March all over the country. Hopefully, 10,000's of motorcycles and 4x4 cars will block roads and autoroutes around the country to increase the pressure on the politicians. This is a good start, but we need to see the other motorcycle manufactures join the battle. So Mr Honda, Yamaha, Kawasaki, Suzuki, BMW, GasGas and the others..... where are you ??? Start spending some of our money !!
