Today I traded my BMW R1200C in for a 2nd hand BMW R1150GS.....and that's my 2nd GS !!! Now I own two of them !! It's not that I don't like the Cruiser, in fact, I LOVE it, but it's not exactly a distance bike, specially when going 2-up. The GS is much more meant for long distance, off road, cruising, lane splitting (and getting speeding tickets).
This is the bike (type) that I intend to travel from Paris to Cape Town with (DEC2003).
