Even if you don't live in the UK, you'll know that the country is plagued by speed radars (called Gatsos). No self-respecting village is without one. Add to that the increasing number of mobile radars, and you'll never be able to increase your speed by 1 mile over the limit anywhere in the UK. Not even to overtake another vehicle. With the manning and money collection in hands of private companies who need to make profits, no wonder gadgets like the Pogo Alert are multiplying themselves.
Pogo Alert is a small radar alert device, using GPS technology and a downloadable database of all fixed radar locations. Apart from the fixed radars, it uses infrared camera detecting, and you can hook up a laser radar detector to the device, giving you full speed radar protection.
So now you can be warned anywhere in the UK for fixed or mobile radar units. But not only will it warn you for speed radars, but also for accident blackspots, or even when you're approaching a school !
The unit has a limitator feature, which means if you're riding your motorcycle at the legal speed, no warning will be given. Pogo are preparing an European database of radars, but be warned! It is now illegal to use any GPS speed radar warning device in Switzerland {link}, and in France you are not allowed to use any device that "senses" radars, only a fixed database.
