Any motorcyclist that dies on his motorcycle is bad news, but the recent death of Simon Milward has shocked the small community of long distance/adventure riders ! Simon Milward was riding his custom built motorcycle around the world for a charity, and had just arrived in Mali, Africa where he passed away in a road accident. Simon had a great passion for motorcycles. He was one of the founding members of FEMA (Federation of European Motorcyclists' Associations), and had served as its General Secretary. He had spent much of his time successfully lobbying for the rights of motorbikers in Europe. He started his RTW trip on the 1st of January 2000, and his charity was involved in an organization bringing motorcycles to Africa for medical emergencies and with Doctors without Borders. More details can be found on his website (Millennium Ride) and at FEMA's website.
