Pursuing their attempt to equalize Harley in merchandising (but a bit more tactful), Italian motorcycle manufacturer -par-excellence, Ducati, has teamed up with German sport shoe maker, Puma, to bring you .... Ducati Shoes. Called the Panigale ( the name refers to Borgo Panigale, the Bologna-city area where Ducati has had its headquarters since 1926) is been purpose made, with research in MotoGP boots. The Panigale has an outrigger on the forefoot which reminds of the forefoot sliders from the Moto 1000, the competition boot, as well as an exoskeleton support structure in the heel to improve comfort without making the product heavier. The Ducati Puma Panigale uses key elements from most contemporary bike designs from the brand, and in particular from their high performance motorcycles, true icons from the Italian company. The shoe is built around a 360-degree graphic, which represents the famous “racing stripe” on the S4Rs. Materials also remind consumers of the characteristics of Ducati’s bikes: glossy leather upper, carbon-optic heel construction, and traditional white, black and red color combinations taken directly from the flashy colors of the Ducati motorcycles. Available in six colors for Recommended Retail Price of €110, the Panigale will be available starting April 2 exclusively at Foot Locker through out Europe, Puma Stores worldwide, and starting May in Ducati stores.
