According to British motorcycle magazine MCN, the new UK 2008 budget is much in favor of British motorcycle riders (for a change). With car taxes rising up to £400 (US$787) for a car per year, the highest a biker with a 600+ cc motorcycle will have to pay is £64 (US$ 125) up £2. Motorcycles below 150 cc will not be taxed extra, thus costing them £15 per year. The UK motorcycle industry must be relieved. However, gas tax prices keep rising. Tax on fuel is set to increase by 2p per litre in October this year, with another 2p added in 2008 and a further 1.84p in 2009. Give on one hand, take away on the other. In this case take with one hand, and take away on the other hand.
