As found in MCN UK, the Thames Valley Police are trying out a new method on motorcyclists: they are turning to football (soccer) style penalties. If you get stopped for a minor offense, you will get a Yellow card. The Yellow card is accompanied with advise (plus a recommendation to go for more training). For bigger offenses you get a Red card. Now you get the choice of paying up for the fine (and possible prosecution), or going to a rider improvement course (in other words, you're sent off). The cards are at the discretion of the police officer, so if you're caught well above the speed limit riding down a one way street through the red lights, I don't think you'll get a red card....
