OK, so they'll not win the prize of the most elegant sunglasses, but they'll win the one for the most innovative. The University of Washington have developed a sunglass that is "intelligent". You can vary the transparency of the sunglass by regulating the flow of low voltage electricity. The more current, the darker the sunglass tint becomes. Very handy when riding in the sun, and you need to enter a tunnel or parking garage. Press a button, and the sunglass becomes transparent. Obvisouly you can already envisage that the sunglasses will be equipped with light sensors; the more light, the darker the glasses become (and fast, not like the ones that take ages to change color). It reminds me of the Swedish cromatic visor for helmets {link}. Wonder whatever happened to that ? Click here to read more about it (there a nice video showing you how it works.. cool)
