Suzuki Diesel Motorcycle
Some clever guy named Crazy Jerry with a lot of time on his hands has produced a diesel version of his Suzuki motorcycle. He converted his old, but still running, Suzuki GS550L into a real diesel motorcycle.

Have a look at the photo. Notice that engine !!!

It's not for the faint-hearted, but if you're interested, Jerry has produced a CD explaining in detail how he did it. The CD can be ordered on-line, and contains photos, diagrams and videos. Cost: $25. You can also download the CD.

Maybe with the way the oil barrel price is heading, having a motorcycle that runs on bio-diesel is a smart move.

Motorcycle manufacturers; start paying attention !!

    Great conversion.

    However,

Diesel is currently more expensive than regular gasoline.

Biodiesel is more expensive than regular diesel

Unless you are brewing your own Biodiesel, there is little advantage to this.

If you are going to brew your own, you would be better off converting the bike to a "grease burner"

    brew your own:

SPike TV Show TRUCKS showed how to make Bio diesle from used deep fry oil. End result not including mixing unit was fuel for .72 cents a gallon and the great smell of french fries (Chips)

I have been dreaming of this or an electric conversion since fule hit $3 a gallon.

I was going to by a faster bike but I will stick to my 55Mpg for a bit longer

Guess it depends on which side of the world. Here diesel is cheaper (still). Bio diesel can be produced in-house, but is taxed..

I'd be willing to fork the bread for the cd, but have no way (either my browser took out the links, or... ) to ask the guy about what level of work is required to make the mods -these bikes aren't that readily available around here, so basically, I'd have to figure out what he did, and modify it to something more readily acquireable. I'm not interested in off-road, and would far prefer a cruiser (something akin to a roadking or the like, but japanese frame -since its easier and cheaper to get)
