There are 3.8 million motorcycles, and only 2.5 million cars in Jakarta, capital city of Indonesia. And despite that, there's a major pollution problem. So the State Minister is deciding to stop new cars from being sold. This, according to him, will make the air more clean. He doesn't mention if this ban is also for motorcycles, but if it's not, than you'll probably see twice as many motorcycles as cars in this Asian country. What I don't understand but then I'm not a politician, is if they stop selling new cars, the old cars, without pollution controls, will keep driving around. instead of subsidizing new and cleaner cars, he's going to opposite way. Oh well, it's above my pay grade...
