US based GPS manufacturer has announced a new GPS suitable for motorcycles, the Garmin 2820. Highlights of this superduper GPS is that it handles Bluetooth, both for connecting to your Bluetooth helmet, and to your mobile Bluetooth equipped telephone. It also features real-time traffic display, XM Radio and a MP3 player. So, you can no longer be bored on the highway... ;-) Navigation is either using the traditional 2D display, or a 3D display (like in the TomTom Rider). What's interesting is that you can now receive proximity alerts, for example, when you approach a fixed radar (you'll need to download the list of radars of course). Due to its MP3 player, you can listen to music (or even audio books), or with the optional XM radio, listen to digital quality radio broadcasts. The display is touchscreen, and I would assume that you can operate it with gloves. The unit is completely waterproof. Expect the unit to sell in the US for $1184. Availability: June 2006.
