Well, it looks like I've not listened to all the warnings I've been giving about radars in France, and the very strict application of the rules by the French gendarmes....I got caught speeding in my wife's car last weekend! I was caught doing 36 kilometers over the speed limit, just when I was passing a car going down a steep hill. I already had some points deducted 2 years ago (the points remain off your license for 3 years), and with the 4 points they'll deduct now, it'll most probably mean that I'll loose my precious piece of paper for THREE years! And after the three years riding ban, I'll need to take driving lessons (legally 20 hours for the car, and 20 for the motorcycle), driving tests, ride around with an "L" plate (actually France uses an "A") and only have half the points for my license. So, in anticipation of not being able to ride a real motorcycle, I'll need to find some other form of transport that I can ride without a license. So this is what I found: It's called the Honda Solo, a 50 cc engine, 77 kilos moped! Well it's a bit nicer looking than a real moped, but it's still a moped !! Top speed of 97 kilometers per hour, no horsepower or torque to speak off, but a very low fuel consumption. And no electric starter, back to the kickstarter. | Click here to have a closer look at my possible future motorcycle....poor me....
