Nick Sanders, already the current holder of the world's fastest Round The World (RTW) ride, is setting out the 22nd of May for another attempt. Sanders will try to beat his previous record by circumnavigating the world on his Yamaha R1 supersports motorcycle in TWENTY DAYS (yes correct, 20 days). His previous record was 31 days. (c) www.motochallenge.com | The attempt will take him 20,000 miles in those 20 days, meaning 1000 miles per day. You could do 1000 miles a day if you're riding on a nice motorway, or even some nice country roads. But imagine riding 1000 miles India, or Pakistan .... He will take an airplane to bypass certain sensitive countries like Iraq and Iran. He'll not take much with him. In fact, Nick Sanders is only taking his video camera and his credit cards. No clothes, no GPS, no maps and no tools. His choice is motorcycle is a bit on the "strange" side as well. The Yamaha R1, though an excellent motorcycle, is not known for a great long distance touring capabilities. When Nick is trying to speed around the planet, he organizes adventure motorcycle trips.
