Problem Solving Your BMW Motorcycle |

The problem with modern day motorcycles is that it's quite difficult for those of you who maintain their own motorcycle to access the sophisticated electronics. To do that, you need very special tools, something that only the official garages have. This applies even more so to the German motorcycle manufacturer, BMW.
Their latest series of motorcycles are all equipped with an electronics bus that makes self- maintenance almost impossible. But even if you don't have the latest R1200GS, or K series motorcycles, diagnosing a faulty BMW motorcycle is not easy, if not almost impossible at times.
But the folks at Hex Diagnostics in South Africa have got THE solution for you. They've produced a small tool, called the GS-911, that connects to your BMW motorcycle.
The BMW models supported by the tool are:
R1200GS Adventure, R1200GS HP2, R1200GS, R1150 Adventure (single and twin spark), R1150 (single and twin spark), F650GS/Dakar (single and twin spark), F650CS, C1, C1-200, R1200R, R1200RT, R1200S, R1200ST, R1200GS MegaMoto, R1100S ,K1200GT, K1200R, K1200R Sport, K1200S, K1200LT, K1200RS, and K1200GT (non-CAN).
They have two versions of the tool; one that connects to your computer via USB, and one, surprise, surprise, that connects to your mobile telephone via Bluetooth (your mobile phone must be able to communicate via Bluetooth, and must support JSR-82 Java - a list is available on their FAQ, but for example, a BlackBerry will work).
This means that if you're out for a long ride, you don't need to bring your laptop computer to diagnose your BMW motorcycle, your phone will do the trick. handy!
The USB version cost (for the moment) US$199 while the Bluetooth version costs US$249.
