With all those high tech, Bluetooth enabled, intercoms, communication hubs, and what not, you tend the lose sight of the KISS method (Keep It Simple, Stupid). Back in the days when boats were equipped with sails only and electricity was still magic, their crew could talk to each other between decks. To do that, they used a tube and spoke in the tube. No electronics. And guess what....??? It worked! So if you're in the market for an intercom, but don't want to spend 100's of Dollars, Euros or Pesos, here's the solution for you. BackChat uses the same technology that applied centuries ago. Using interconnected tubes, with nothing but air, you can talk to your pillion. No electricity (therefore no flat batteries), no electrical interference, and no 2nd mortgage. Just clip the BackChat to your helmets and start talking. Another advantage is that the system uses earplugs, so you have a nice hearing protector built in... Price: UK£ 49.95 (batteries not included.. ) But your next question will probably be "what do I do if I have a GPS, or want to listen to music??". No problem, there's the connector between a GPS, music or mobile phone and the BackChat "hub". The connector converts the sound and "sends" it through the tubes to you. The initial interface model is for rider only (UK£24.95), but you can also gets models for both rider and pillion. Who said you needed high tech equipment ? Click here for more information.
