General GPS On Your Motorcycle

Many people out there have bought a GPS that they can use in the car, but would like to use it on their motorcycle. Apart from getting the GPS fixed properly on your motorcycle, the biggest problem is that general purpose GPSs are not rain proof.

So you end up with a Duct taped GPS, enrolled in plastic. Not a nice sight.

The So Easy Rider
But there's an alternative. The So Easy Rider V2 from Xtream Weather. The So Easy Rider is very simple; it's a rain proof cover with Velcro straps.

The So Easy Rider
You strap the cover to your motorcycle handlebars (or even around your waist), put in your GPS (it's accept almost any format GPS, even big ones), and you're in business.

The So Easy Rider
Obviously there are some limitations to using an all-purpose system like this compared to a motorcycle specific GPS; you'll have problems hard wiring the unit for electricity, and the unit will always be low (in contrast with motorcycle GPSs with RAM mounts, or specific dash mounts like Motorrad Concepts dash mounts). But with the water proof pouch, this will allow you to ride in even the worst tropical downpour and still see where you need to be going.

But for €59, you can use your car or general purpose GPS on your motorcycle.

At their website, you can also get other GPS accessories for motorcycles (like universal chargers and special extra batteries).
