 During the MotoGP of Catalunya (Spain), the Spanish motorcycle magazine Motociclismo organizes together with 15 other motorcycle magazines from 19 countries, the Master Bike Award for best motorcycle. There are three categories; Supersport, Superbike and Open. From the three categories, the best of the three are elected in a complicated rating system to receive the Master Bike of 2004 award. 15 riders test 13 different motorcycles. Rating is attribution is 40% of the score for the best time performed on the track, 40% for the fastest lap set for each individual rider and 20% for the individual rating by each rider. The top motorcycles then compete in a final race with the best 6 riders taking turns on each motorcycle. Based on the best laps, the winners are announced.
