Just reported in MCN, in Kent, UK, the Kent and Medways Safety Cameras Partnership have started a poster campaign to warn bikers that have recently started biking again of the serious accidents they can get involved in. According to the organization, many bikers take to the road with a new, high powered, motorcycle after years of not being active. But todays' motorcycles and traffic conditions have changed, something that these bikers do not understand - according to the organization.
Also, according to the organization, most of these born-again bikes still think they have the abilities and reactions to ride the powerbikes. In 2002, 29 bikers died in the county, the majority being bikers over the age of 30 who had stopped riding for several years, and started again.
The posters will be placed at places along the roadside where fatal accidents have occurred in the past. They will also be displayed at Hospitals, Police Stations, etc.
