Ducati have been very active in the merchandising arena. They must have taken a leaf out the Harley-Davidson school of Marketing books. Only recently did they announced merchandising deals with Tumi (luggage {link}), Victorinox (Swiss Army Knife {link}), Zegna (Perfume {link}) and Peg Perego (kid toys {link}).
Today, the Italian motorcycle manufacturer announced a round-robin deal with American sunglass manufacturer Oakley.
Oakley will sponsor the Ducati MotoGP and SuperBike efforts, while Ducati staff from both sports disciplines will be wearing exclusively the Oakley sunglasses.
Further, a line of Oakley sunglasses are to hit the market, signed by Ducati: Ducati Signature products currently available from Oakley include the Ducati WISDOM™ goggle and seven sunglass styles: Ducati GASCAN™, Ducati MONSTER DOG™, Ducati CROSSHAIR™, Ducati JULIET®, Ducati HATCHET™, Ducati RIDDLE™ and Ducati FIVES® 3.0.
Prices: Between $90 and $330.
I might sound a bit flippant, but I'm jealous.... they do look the business. Anyone want to donate one to me ??
