One of the main training/testing grounds for the Dakar rally is the Orpi Maroc race. This year, the race was held between the 31st of May and 6th of June.
As is the case with the Dakar race, the rally is open to motorcycle, cars and trucks. As was the case with previous Dakar races, the Orpi Maroc rally deplores a fatality, this time with the navigator Henri Magne of Joan Roma (Mitsubishi Pajero). Rally racing remains a dangerous sport !
In the motorcycle race, the winner was Spaniard Marc Coma (the Dakar winner). All the big names of the Dakar race are present at this race. It's also the time for the motorcycle manufacturers to do the last changes on their bikes before the Dakar.
