After 5 biker deaths in 8 days, the Police Force in Wales have started harassing bikers. They stop, sometimes several times a day, the motorcyclists for loud-pipe, illegal plates or illegal visors checks, and at times hold the biker for an hour or so before they are sent on their way.
This smells very much like a discrimination, since cars are not treated like this. 500 Bikers had a protest ride over the weekend, asking the Police to treat them like others, but according to the Police spokesman; their policy will not change.
There seems to be some personal conflicts in this issue. The Deputy Chief Constable, Bill Brereton (a Biker himself) recently lost his 20 year old daughter to a motorcycle accident. Needless to say, a biker death is always to be mourned, but don't turn this in to a "punish all bikers" action. There will always be fools on the road, and the only thing these action result in, is that the sensible bikers stop riding, not the stupid ones.
