According to the German Federal Office on Vehicle Statistics, a total of 406,264 motorcycles were registered to females riders by the beginning of 2004. This represents a total of 13.41 % of all riders. However, as pointed out by the organization, there are many more, since many households have more than one motorcycle, and often the motorcycles are registered in the man's name for insurance reasons.
Women between the ages of 30 and 44 are particularly keen on having their own motorcycles, and one in four woman bikers are between the age of 35 and 39.
