Sad news for the Parisian drivers !! Due to the continuing air pollution over the French capital, the government is thinking about levying a tax to enter Paris, inspired by the London Car Tax. This weekend, due to the hot weather and many cars, the pollution threshold will be reached again, and probably Sunday or Monday, only cars with an even or uneven number plate (Sunday is uneven, Monday is even) are allowed to drive in Paris( plus off course emergency, taxi, delivery vehicles, and cars with more than 2 occupants and "clean" cars). But since these even/uneven restrictions are difficult on the cars owners, the government wants to investigate limiting cars by taxing them. There's no information yet about motorcycles, but if they are exempt (as they should be) then there will be another motorcycle purchase explosion (the previous one was when the law came in to effect that if you have a car license you were allowed to ride a 125 cc motorcycle ). I know this much from the French, if they do plan it, there will be yet another revolution ! Bring back the guillotine !
