Unusual Position For Valentino Rossi 21 September 2005   File under  Racing   Author: Mike Werner   Location: Normandy, France This has been a very unusual position for reigning MotoGP World Champion, Valentino Rossi. It's been a long while since he's crashed so badly that he needed to be brought to the pits on a motorcycle. I'd venture a guess, that Rossi is not used to being a passenger, specially on a motorcycle... World champion and MotoGP class point leader Valentino Rossi of Italy takes a ride on a motorcycle to return to the team pit after retiring the 24-lap race at the 12th lap of the Japanese Grand Prix in Motegi Twin Ring circuit, north of Tokyo September 18, 2005. Rossi still leads the world championship with 261 points.
