Canadian conglomerate Bombardier, makers of fine products such as airplanes, trains, jetskis, outboard engines, atvs, etc. etc., have announced their award (Gold Award Annual Design Awards - 2003 Industrial Design Society of America & Business Week Magazine) winning EMBRIO, a concept-motorcycle of the future. The EMBRIO is a single wheel motorcycle, ecological (fueled by hydrogen fuel cells technology) and easy to use thanks to a complex system of gyroscopes and sensors. Once the motorcycle reaches 20 kph (12.5 mph), the small "landing gear" (remember that Bombardier makes airplanes such as Learjet) retracts and you're left riding with one wheel. Maneuvering the cycle is done with your weight transfer and with use of the gyros. Seems more like a "fun" vehicle to me, and not something that the current motorcycle manufacturers need to worry about. Are you interested in this device ???? Well, you're going to have to wait until the year 2025..... Click here to read more about it.
