In my regular series, "Uniformed Bikers", here are the Special Forces from the Jordan military. The Jordan Army are the third armed forces unit to contract with Rokon, the producers of the two-wheel drive motorcycles. These motorcycles are purpose built bikes that power both wheels, so you have double the traction you would normally have. This allows for the motorcycles to go in to places that normal off road bikes would never be able to go. From Rokon's website: "How does it work? The motor drives a belt and that feeds power through an automatic torque converter into a three-speed transmission located under the seat. This acts as a transfer case, sending power to the rear wheel via a chain, and to then another chain. On each of the transfer cases, there is a mechanical disc brake that effectively slows the wheels. A clutched coupling lets the front wheel freewheel when the handlebars are turned so as not to hinder cornering. There is no suspension, the fat low pressure tyres absorb the bumps, the wheels are even alloy drums in which you can carry 4.5 gallons of extra fuel or water." It is the intention of the King Abdullah Design and Development Bureau (KADDB) to develop the special motorcycles under license in Jordan. Click here to read more about the Jordan Armed Forces.
