At the Paris Motorcycle Show, the Mondial du Deux Roues, Aprilia showed off their very spectacular SVX and RVX motorcycles. In absence of Ducati (they were boycotting the show), Aprilia were the only Italian motorcycle manufacturer at the show. The Aprilia CEO opened the press conference by unveiling a motorcycle that had been widely reported already in the press.... The SVX is a SuperMotard version, while the RVX is their Enduro motorcycle. Both have the same engines in common, the V°77 Twin cylinder, either 550 cc or 450 cc. SVX The SuperMotard motorcycle comes from good stock, since Aprilia have won the S2 SuperMotard World championship with the same engine. Single overhead cam with rocker operated exhaust valves, chain timing drive, 4 valve heads, titanium valves. | | Fuel | Lead-free petrol. | | Bore x stroke | 76 x 49.5 mm (80 x 55 mm) | | Total displacement | 449 cc (549 cc). | | Compression ratio | 12.5:1 (12:1). | | Fuel system | Integrated engine management system controlling ignition and fuel injection. Usually you'll find it in the 450 or 550 cc single cylinder engines. The V2 twin at a 77° angle is different. The SuperMotard version redlines at 13,000 rpm !! There's almost no noticeable physical difference between both motorcycles: The real differences are in gear ration (obviously), tires, ground clearance and suspension. Slated for distribution in November, no prices are known as of yet. Click here to access the Aprilia website.
