Greg L. sent me this piece of information. Apparently in the USA, Suzuki have put in place a comprehensive program for "pre-owned" (read second-hand) Suzuki motorcycles. Buying a 2nd hand Suzuki motorcycle from a dealer will give you a 90 day warrantee, extendable up to 36 months (after paying extra money). This kind of took me aback.... does this mean that in the USA when you buy a 2nd hand motorcycle, it's not covered under any guarantee ?? In France, when you buy a bike from a dealer, even if it's not the manufacturer's dealer, you usually get a 100% warrantee covering you for all defects for one year. In fact, I had bought a 2nd hand BMW R1150GS, and 2 weeks before the one year was over, the gearbox died. BMW replaced the gearbox with a new one (not a renovated one). Only thing I had to pay was the oil.... If this is the case, you folks in the States have a way to go. In the country where the most motorcycle are sold, you need to get similar programs. Good from Suzuki !! (Thanks Greg L.)
