Apart from several new models introduced at the German Intermot motorcycle exhibition, KTM showed the first prototype neck brace. We all know the dangers of motorcycle riding, specially off-road racing. In races like the Dakar, several deaths have been deplored, many that could have been saved if a comprehensive neck brace system existed.
KTM are developing together with Dr. Chris Leatt (medical doctor with experience in trauma and neurosurgery ) such a system.
The neck brace is supposed to keep your neck intact when crashing and falling. It should prevent your neck from breaking. All KTM factory teams will be using this system. The neck brace will be further developed and sold to all off-road riders.
Glad to see that manufacturers are taking an interest in our safety !
