A Swedish company, Chromogenics Sweden AB, together with the University of Uppsala, have developed a visor that can change its tint at a push of a button. The visor is powered by a 1 Volt battery, and after pressing a button ( or maybe even by voice control) the visor becomes dark or clear. The advantages of these are numerous, but the obvious one is when you are about to enter a dark tunnel during a sunny day. If you are riding with a dark visor, you will not be able to see much. Push the button, and the visor become clear. Chromogencis have developed the visor to be an "add-on" to existing clear visors, so it should be able to be adapted to any current helmet. The visor is currently being tested, and no news is yet available on market availability. I will keep you posted on this web site when it will be. Click here to read more about it.
