According to the Freedonia Group, worldwide annual sales of motorcycles will increase by 5.5% per year, reaching a total of 35.6 million motorcycles and scooters sold by the year 2007. This, again according to Freedonia Group, represents a total sales value of US$ 46 Billion ! While the car sales are decreasing, sales of motorcycles are on the increase, and not only in the western world, but also in third world countries. What this would mean, in my humble opinion, is that the motorcycle industry will be getting stronger as an economical and therefore political power. This in its turn would mean that the lobby and political forces will need to start listing to the motorcyclists. The Freedonia Group is a leading international business research company, founded in 1985, that publishes more than 100 industry research studies annually. Click here to read more about it.
