As in most "civilized" countries, the so-called environmentalists have struck another victory. They have pressured the British government to propose a law change that bans off-road motorcycle riding !! No off-road, not ever ! According to the press release, the half-baked environmentalists already have access to 95% of British off-road surface (ie the roads that are not surfaced), while motorcycle (and cars) only have access to 5%. That was not enough for these ignorant and very dangerous people, they want it all, and we, the motorcyclists, are not allowed to have our fun. The result of this law, is that since there are so very few who actually "walk" on these roads, they will quickly become overgrown and impassible, as have many other roads claimed by this small group of fanatics. It's the usual 20/80 rule, 20% of the people dictate what 80% can do for fun ! Well, in this case, it's probably more that 5% dictate. Therefore it's called a dictatorship. What I can't understand is how the motorcycle industry, with all its associations, manufacturers and motorcycle clubs, have not been able to fight the "green" lobby groups ?? I'd venture to state that the motorcycle industry should have a lot more money and political pressure that a group of pseudo-environmentalists ......so why are we always loosing ?? Are they better than we are ? Do they have more money ?? Are they more fanatical ? Or are they lobbying more effectively ? Wake-up Aprilia, BMW, Ducati, Harley, Honda, Kawasaki, KTM, Suzuki and Yamaha !!! Time to smell the roses !! If we start losing our battles about off-road riding, city parking, lane splitting, etc, etc, YOU the manufacturer will lose your company !! Because who will buy your product if it can't be used !! So start spending some of you money and efforts in helping motorcyclists win their battles against the evil forces !
