Looks the Harley Davidson hired a top notch motorcycle salesman. It's none other than the current President of the USA, George W. Bush. Not bad job, not a bad move.... The Mayor of Milwaukee, Tom Barrett, has asked the President's help in selling Harley-Davidson motorcycles in China. As we probably know, Harley's Head Office and manufacturing is located in Milwaukee. Apparently, the Chinese are playing hard to get when it comes to allowing Harley to open a dealership in China. In fact, there are NO Harley dealerships in China. Since Bush is meeting the Chinese President Hu Jintao later this month, it's an ideal moment to tell the Chinese President to ride a Harley. I'm just trying to figure out why Harley want to sell to China. There are lots of people there, therefore a lot of prospective customers, but on the other hand, the Chinese authorities have banned motorcycles in 170 cities, and that list can only grow. So not only should Bush get China to open up to Harley, but also persuade the Chinese to lift motorcycle bans !! Not that would be a good thing if he can manage that.
