Newars are inhabitants of Kathmandu and have ruled the valley for centuries and their calendar is regarded as the original Nepalese date. Thousands of Newars and other Nepalese took part in a motorcycle rally to celebrate the New Year. No, ... not yet for a large part of the world, but in Kathmandu it's that time of the year already (how times flies).
