At the Italian motorcycle show EICMA, Ducati unveiled their new concept motorcycle, the HyperMotard. Based on a 1000 dual spark engine, the new motorcycle is lighter and faster than ever before.
The Hypermotard motorcycle offers speeds exceeding 220 Kph on the track, fuel injection, and big bore acceleration with more than 100 horsepower on only 175Kg of dry weight. A rigidly triangulated Trellis frame and track-tested chassis geometry is matched with state-of-the-art suspension. Start off with road-holding 50mm Marzocchi R.A.C. forks, gripped by a triple screw lower fork crown, then add an Ohlins remote reservoir shock that mounts to a stout, single-sided swing arm. Ultra light forged and machined Marchesini racing wheels are paired with a single radial mounted Brembo four piston, four pad calliper gripping a 320mm disc up front and a 240mm disc at the rear. Not much further information is yet available, but it does look like we'll be seeing this motorcycle in the not so distant future. Click here for a presentation.
