No, this is not a dirty joke. Some time ago I mentioned {link}about a valiant group of British motorcycle riders who were going to ride their Honda C90 scooters from the UK, through the Sahara desert to Gambia. All this is for charity, since they would be carrying medical supplies (in the scooters and with the two support trucks), and the scooters will be donated to the hospital in Bangsang. The group has an official name; 2006 UKGSer Challenge, but their "real" name is Tossers In The Sahara - TITS (Tosser is a positive word in the UK, or at least that's what I've been told). This initiative from the BMW UK GS club, UKGSer.com, will involve 8 riders (down from 20 for a variety of reasons) and their 2 support trucks, riding these Honda C90 scooters, braving the cold European weather, followed by the heat of the Sahara. They plan to leave the UK for Calais on the 28th of December. They hope to reach Gambia 4 weeks later, and stay there for a few days, teaching the local staff how to maintain the vehicles. One of the riders is a female nurse. The team members are: Bill, Ian, Paul, Steve, Jaq, Charles, Dennis and Steve. The two support drivers are Jason and Jamie. Although they're close to going on their trip, you can still donate. The money will be used exclusively by the hospital, since all the TITS members are paying for their own trip, the scooters were donated as was all the equipment.
