Next month see the first BMW International GS Trophy held in Tunisia (15-24 Oct). Each of the main market countries for BMW (USA, Germany, Spain, UK, Japan, Italy) will field 6 riders (3 GS owners and 3 journalists) to spend a grueling 10 days in the desert of Tunisia on a BMW F800GS motorcycle (a bit like the Camel Trophy).
The Trophy is not a race, but a "Survivor Style" competition.

The three American finalists were selected from a field of 100 candidates. Their selection was based on the technical, leadership and teamwork skills. Four judges evaluated the riding, leadership and teamwork skills of the six riders in a series of grueling challenges, including: an offset slalom course, circle drill, controlled ascents and descents, uphill slalom, sand recovery, sand relay, team trail challenge, barrel race and high speed maneuvering.
