In Belgium, over the last seven years, deadly motorcycle accidents increased by 30%! This very alarming statistics has resulted in the Belgium government producing safety ads, hoping to educate all users of their road systems. Research has shown that 70% (seventy) of all deadly accidents were caused because the other driver (ie car) did not see the motorcycle. The government hopes that the safety ad shown here will make cage drivers conscious of this fast. The ad's safety message says "Don't Lose Sight Of Motorcycles". 40% of all deadly accidents took place between May and July, in other words, the riders were recreational riders, not year-round ones. Riders who ride only a few time in the year do not have the reflexes and traffic experience of someone who rides most of the time. And finally, 30% of the deadly accidents could have been avoided if the motorcycle rider had more experience, specifically in emergency stop and avoidance techniques. Looks like Belgium is like the rest of Europe....
